The philosophy of Backsberg is that of providing pleasure and enjoyment to a broad range of wine lovers by producing wines not only with structure and finesse, but with a high level of “drinkability”. Backsberg lies on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountains, equidistant from Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The estate is entered through an archway formed by magnificent old trees that line the mile long driveway and leads to manicured lawns and garden beds bursting with colour and fragrance. You’ll be able to explore the beautifully maintained gardens or follow a pathway to the maze and soak up the ambiance of true Cape Heritage and history, while enjoying great wines.
Did You Know...? Backsberg has become the first wine producer in South Africa and one of only three in the world to gain Carbon Neutral status by sequestrating its carbon emissions. Do not miss the Picnic concerts in Summer!
