Situated on the eastern mountain slopes of the fertile Franschhoek Valley, Cape Chamonix was originally part of the first farm granted to the Huguenots in 1688 (La Cotte). Moreover, it boasts some of highest planted vineyards in the Cape. Wine tastings are done at the "Blacksmith's Cottage", built at the end of the 18th century, and decorated with antique saddles and horse memorabilia offering a warm and cosy feeling to the place. The Pinot Noir 2010 (Cape Chamonix Reserve) was nominated Wine of the Year by the 2012 Platter guide.
Did You Know...? The restaurant terrace with centennial oak trees offers amazing views of the valley.
